NGC3584 in Carina

NGC 3584 (also known as NGC 3576, NGC 3579, NGC 3581, NGC 3582 and NGC 3586) is an emission nebula located in the Sagittarius arm of our galaxy a few thousand light years from the η Carinae Nebula . When John Herschel first discovered this nebula in 1834 he could only see the brighter parts. Subsequently it received six different classification numbers, one for each of these parts.
